TeamSpeak Howto
From SeagisWiki
These are quick instructions for getting TeamSpeak up and running on a Windows system. I think I'm the only one running it on a Mac, but if you need Mac instructions, send me an email in game and I'll whip something up.
First, download TeamSpeak from the TeamSpeak download page. I would download the latest non-beta version there is, unless you're a Mac user, in which the beta version is the only version.
Once you've downloaded the installer, you'll need to run it by double clicking its icon. Just go through the installer accepting the defaults. When it's done installing, it will give you the option to start TeamSpeak. Go ahead and start it (make sure if you're using Skype or anything else that uses your headset that you kill that first, so it doesn't interfere).
At this point you should be good to go. However, there are some settings you can tweak. First, go under the Settings menu and select Sound Input/Output Settings:
Here you can set your volume levels, as well as the voice activation option. Most of us use voice activation so we don't have to worry about pressing a key to talk, but you should make sure the voice activation level is set to a point that's comfortable, but doesn't end up transmitting all the time. A quick way to test is to click Activate local test mode. The green icon will light up when you're talking. If it's on all the time, you need to raise the voice activation level. If you have to shout to make it transmit, you need to lower the voice activation level. Our server uses the Speex codec, so if you want to get an idea of how you'll sound on the server, try selecting the Speex 7.2 Kbit codec to test with. When you're done here, click the Close button.
The other setting you can change is your default name. Go back under the Settings menu, and select Options. Click on the Other tab, and you can enter your Default Guest Nickname. Set that to your character's name so when you log in, we can see who is who in TeamSpeak.
That should do it. Now, to connect to our server, click on the link on the TeamSpeak thread in our Member's Only forum. If the link doesn't work for you, contact me in game so we can make sure you're properly set up as a guild member on our forums.
