Coilfang Reservoir is an instance located in WoWWiki:Zangarmarsh. The structure itself is a subterranean pumping station, operated by the sinister WoWWiki:Naga. The dungeon is made up of gigantic caverns with huge pipes descending from the ceiling powered by titanic crystal capacitors. While the entrance to the Reservoir is underwater, the instance itself is only partially submerged, similar to the WoWWiki:Blackfathom Deeps.

It is composed of four wings, three of which are 5-man instances. In that sense Coilfang is a bit like Hellfire Citadel, where you have two 5-man wings that can be considered level-up content: The Slave Pens, a level 61 to 64 wing and The Underbog, a level 62 to 65 wing. Then you have The Steamvault, a level 70 five-man wing and Serpentshrine Cavern, a 25-man raid zone.

Official Info

Worldofwarcraft.com says the following about the Coilfang Reservoir:

The delicate ecology of Zangarmarsh has been thrown out of balance. Unnatural phenomena are corrupting and destroying the marsh's native flora and fauna. This disturbance has been traced to the foreboding Coilfang Reservoir. It is rumored that the leader of this mysterious edifice is none other than the infamous Lady Vashj. Only you can discover her nefarious plans and stop them before it's too late. Coilfang Reservoir is divided into four areas, three of which are five-man dungeons (the Slave Pens, the Underbog, and the Steamvault), in addition to the 25-man raid dungeon, Serpentshrine Cavern.

Lore

As of late, the WoWWiki:Cenarion Expedition has not been able to identify the cause of the dropping water levels in WoWWiki:Zangarmarsh. From a band of adventurers, it has been identified that the WoWWiki:Naga are currently constructing a new WoWWiki:Well of Eternity using the vials that WoWWiki:Illidan stole, and the water of Zangarmarsh. The Naga have constructed numerous pumps throughout the Zangarmarsh to suck up the water to support the new well. With a new Well of Eternity, Illidan will have enough power to destroy Kil'Jaeden and the entire WoWWiki:Burning Legion.
